I make complex systems feel simple.

Arun Kumar S, product and UX designer at Cognizant in Chennai. I design enterprise platforms, financial data tools and GenAI products.

I studied literature before design, so I build interfaces the way a good story is written: clear, human, easy to follow.

How I work

I trained in literature before I trained in design. The habits of a careful reader turned out to be the habits of a good designer.

  1. 1

    Read closely

Interviews, testing and research until I can retell a user’s day in their own words.

  2. 2

    Find the plot

Journey maps and synthesis to find the one problem actually worth solving.

  3. 3

    Edit hard

Prototype fast, then cut. Every screen and every field has to earn its place.

  4. 4

    Test the ending

Validate with users and stakeholders, measure what changed, and iterate.

Portrait of Arun Kumar S

From literature to interfaces

Literature taught me how stories mirror human experience. Design gave me a way to act on it. I’m a self-taught UX designer, and I’ve spent my career making large, messy systems feel obvious to the people who use them every day.

My work spans UX research, design thinking, and sustainable, scalable design. Whether it’s an enterprise portal used by thousands or a mobile app for a weekend trek, the goal is the same: less effort for the user, more clarity in every step.
